    Delta State University Admissions

    Delta State University has an open undergraduate admissions deadline. Students need to meet with a university recruiter before applying. The application fee is $15. Applications can be submitted on-line. Students who are enrolled in high school at the time of application will need to have their official final high school transcripts sent after graduation to the Admissions Office.

    As part of their application, students should submit high school transcripts and ACT or SAT test scores. Students should have completed high school courses as follows: 4 units of English, 3 units of mathematics, 3 units of history and social studies, 3 units of science, 2 units of electives, and ½ unit of computer applications. Students must generally meet one of the following minimum requirements: high school GPA of 3.2, test scores of 18 on the ACT or 860 on the SAT, or a combination of high school GPA with test scores.

    Transfer students and international students will have varying requirements depending upon their prior educational background.

    Students applying to the graduate programs at Delta State University should consult the individual department and/or school to which they are applying. Applications can be submitted on-line, and the application fee is $15. Prospective students are strongly encouraged to consult with members of the graduate school before applying. General requirements include the GRE or other appropriate test scores (such as the GMAT) and a bachelor’s degree.

    Applicants are required to complete a comprehensive college preparatory curriculum prior to admission to Delta State. This curriculum includes four units of English, three units of mathematics, three units of science, one unit of U.S. History, one unit of World History, a half unit of U.S. Government, a half unit of economics, a half unit of geography, a half unit of computer science, and two units of advanced electives. Students can gain admission in a number of ways. Completing the preparatory curriculum with a 3.2 grade point average or greater guarantees admission. Other means of admission include: a 2.5 grade point average and a 16 or greater on the ACT (760 SAT), a 2.0 grade point average and an 18 or greater on the ACT (860 SAT), or rank in the top half of the high school graduating class and a score of at least 16 on the ACT (760 SAT).
